André Monet was born in Montreal in 1965. He studied graphic design at Laval University while exploring other mediums in fine art. He has more than 20 years of work experience as an Art Director, Illustrator and Graphic Designer for marketing or fashion agencies. At the moment he is an awarded full time artist and has participated in more than 40 art exhibitions and international fairs around the world.

Inspired by cinema, photography, music and literature, Monet has a natural connection and sense for the current society and his contemporaries. He explored various mediums such as mosaic, collage and acrylics. His signature conceptual assemblage of text, texture and color, exudes eccentricity and empowerment. It tries to exemplify the characters and personalities of the icons it represents. He turned to portraits, by blending collage of old newspapers and books, painting and varnishing. The traits of his characters are recreated with such precision that one might see a realistic photography arising from a distance. With this medium he wants to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals who appear on his canvases.
